The lyrics were originally a set of wedding vows written in sonnet form that were (wisely) abandoned before the ceremony. However, the paper with the lyrics on them was promptly lost and forgotten before being rediscovered almost 5 years later. This sonnet was adapted for this song.

Ellipses feign to designate the sum
